STUDENT PROFILE - - Coordinated by Julie Swan
Grade: 12
Family members: Orel (mother), Lucien (father), Noah (brother)
Favorite subject(s): I enjoy the logic and dependability of mathematics.
Activities: National Honor Society, debate team, girls’ varsity tennis, marching/concert band, Peer Listeners, Hawk Ambassadors, Scholastic Scrimmage, Engineering Team, PMEA District 10 Band, Kaire Retreat Team, Math Club, Photography Club
Next steps: I plan to attend a four-year institution where I will major in biology in preparation for medical school.
Career goals: I hope to one day graduate from medical school and become a doctor, although I am not yet sure what kind. At the moment, I have a particular interest in cardiology, but I am open to learning about the other specialties as well.
Heroes: I have no single hero in particular, but I want to exemplify specific traits from each important person in my life, including my parents, teachers, and Becahi alumni.
Hobbies: Biking, learning new instruments, playing tennis, exploring my hometown
Current job(s): I am a registered member of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, a union of professional instrumental musicians available to perform services for compensation.
Volunteer/community work: I volunteer weekly at St. Luke’s Hospital (Anderson Campus) in Easton, in addition to repeated service to the annual Historic Bethlehem Turkey Trot 5K and the St. Joseph the Worker Knights of Columbus Parish Breakfast. My statuses as a Peer Listener, a retreat team member, and a Hawk Ambassador have also provided me with various service opportunities.
Likes: Ferries, classical music, scenic views
Dislikes: Being late, tomatoes, mini golf
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment is earning the title of junior drum major in Becahi’s marching band, a title I value greatly because of the ability it gives me to lead my fellow musicians and shape underclassmen’s high- chool experience in the activity, just as now-alumni did for me.
Advice for peers: Never let anyone tell you what you are or are not capable of. If someone tells you that you cannot achieve something you are pursuing, that gives you even more of a reason to work for it anyway. Often, the best motivation is others’ doubt.
