Did you know there is an easy way to make sure your vehicle is safe by checking for recalls?
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, in 2020 there were 886 safety recalls affecting 55 million vehicles and other equipment in the United States.
Sadly, 25 percent of recalls are never repaired. By not having your vehicle repaired, it could result in a crash that causes serious injuries or even death.
To check for recalls, go to NHTSA.gov/recalls or download the SaferCar app on your Smartphone.
Once you enter your information, it will email you, should a recall arise.
This is great for those who own a used vehicle, in which case you may not otherwise be notified of a recall. Recall repairs are free, you just need to contact the dealership to make an appointment.
To report a safety issue that is not part of a recall, you can contact NHTSA at 888-327-4236 to make a report.
Please take the time to make sure your vehicle is safe, as you are not the only life on the road.
