Martin Regis Tunney, 79, of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, died Oct. 22, 2021, in Schnecksville.
Born March 22, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, he was the son of the late Martin and Ellen Griffin Tunney.
He attended Central Catholic High School, John Carroll University, The University of Pittsburgh, and California University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in history education.
He was director of internal audits for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry before retiring.
He was Roman Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus, The American Legion and The Elks.
He loved his family, good conversation and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His survivors include adoring daughters Michele Lynne Martineau (Richard) of Slatington, and Jennifer Anne Wilt (Neil) of Etters; beloved grandchildren Michael, Griffin, Miranda and Christina; nieces and nephews Ellen, James, Kathleen and Kevin; and extended family in the U.S. and Ireland.
He was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Larkin.
A private memorial service will be held in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
There will be no public calling hours.
