The Nov. 1 Macungie Borough Council meeting began with an executive session about a personnel issue. The meeting was also attended by the borough’s attorney.
The proposed rental inspection ordinance has a suggested change. The change would request the structure be vacant during the inspection. There were concerns about invasion of privacy. This matter will need legal assistance so no action occurred during this meeting.
Two members were added to the planning commission with terms to expire March 31, 2023. The new members are Donna Kohut and Leslie Lapidakis.
Craig Finnerty submitted a letter of interest for the civil service commission vacancy.
Carla Lundgren submitted a letter of interest for the water authority board vacancy.
The Macungie Institute HVAC project was discussed. Waivers for building fees and inspection fees were requested. This was approved.
Solicitor John Ashcraft has raised his rates for 2022.
ACELA Engineering submitted their professional fee schedule for 2021.
In other correspondence, the Macungie Holiday committee requested $1,500 for the annual event.
Macungie Ambulance Corps also requested funds for 2022.
An additional executive session was held on personnel issues.
