Northampton Area Public Library: Pick up teen project kit starting Nov. 8

Northampton Area Public Library is planning a handmade Christmas card project for teens in grades 6-12. Kits will be available to make Christmas cards for our homebound patrons.

Kits are available starting Nov. 8.

The completed cards should be returned to the library by Nov. 30 for distribution.

Register in order to receive a kit.

The library will be holding its fall book sale Nov. 17-20. There will be children’s, teen and adult books, as well as DVDs and CDs, on sale.

Like-new book donations will be accepted until Nov. 11.

Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum is presenting “Rosie the Riveter” at the library 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17. This program tells the story of Rosie the Riveter, the iconic symbol of World War II women war workers.

Registration is required. Register online, at the library help desk or call 610-262-7537.

The library will be hosting a Sugar Plum Fairy family storytime 10 a.m. Nov. 20, presented by the Pennsylvania Classical Ballet Academy.

The principal dancer portraying Sugar Plum Fairy will be on hand to read “The Nutcracker” and do a simple craft. She will be available for photos.

Space will be limited; registration is required.

The library is closing 5 p.m. Nov. 24 and will be closed Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

A tea light snowman ornament craft will be available for pickup Nov. 29 for teens. All materials will be provided.

You must be registered to receive a kit.

Explore the library’s digital programs, including Turkey Day trivia, a stick-together picture mosaic and the interactive children’s library, on our website and Facebook available throughout November. Explore links, videos and activities relating to early literacy.

The library’s fall children’s programs continue through Dec. 16.

Programs include Wonderful Ones for ages 10 months-2 years; toddler storytime for age 2; preschool storytime for ages 3-4; storycraft for grades kindergarten through second grade; and book club, games club and STEAM craft club for grades 3-5.

Registration is required for most programs, and space is still available for most programs.
