EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I’m currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom, Nicole, my dad, Massimo and my dog, Saylor.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science because I like learning the explanations behind things and doing hands-on work in labs.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Last year I received the Service Above Self Award which recognized my weekly dedication to volunteering.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. Outside of school I am involved in Emmaus Dance Team, volunteering at St. Luke’s Hospital and Second Harvest Food Bank, hostessing and banquet serving, National Honor Society, Hornet Ambassadors, Freshman Mentors and dance classes at That’s Dancin’. Last year, COVID-19 stopped me from doing some of these activities, most prominently Emmaus Dance Team.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge right now is getting back into the routine of school and managing all my high school classes, a college class, extracurriculars, work and seeing my friends and family.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school I’m planning on going to college, majoring in biology or neuroscience. I later plan to go to medical school or PA-school.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my Aunt Kelly because she is a successful anesthesiologist with three kids. She shows me that hard work pays off because she manages having her dream job while still having time for her family, friends and other activities.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I’d like to be remembered as determined yet compassionate and always open to listen and give advice to friends and family.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My best advice to my peers would be to stick to your morals, but also take risks and try new things. Although school is very important, try to manage your schedule and leave time for the people you love and the things you’re passionate about.
