Gettysburg College
McCann named to dean’s honor list
Leah McCann, of Northampton, has been placed on the Gettysburg College dean’s honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the spring 2021 semester. Students with a quality-point average of 3.6 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the college’s dean’s honor list.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.

Spohn named to dean’s list
Seton Hall University is pleased to announce Nicole Spohn, of Danielsville, has qualified for the spring 2021 dean’s list. After the close of every semester, undergraduate students completing all courses with a grade-point average of 3.4, with no grades lower than “C,” qualify for the dean’s list.

Kocsis makes dean’s list
Matthew Kocsis, of Northampton, made the dean’s list for the summer term at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must have completed at least six credits during the term, earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for the term and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
Established in 1947, University of Maryland Global Campus is a world leader in innovative educational models, with award-winning online programs in disciplines that are in high demand in today’s increasingly technical, global workplace including biotechnology, cybersecurity, data analytics and information technology. With an enrollment of some 90,000 students, UMGC offers open access with a global footprint and a specific mission to meet the learning needs of students whose responsibilities may include jobs, family and military service. Muhlenberg College
Barhoum named to honor society
Sabrina Barhoum, of Whitehall, was inducted into the 2021 Phi Betta Kappa Honor Society Oct. 15. Strict eligibility guidelines, including completion of specific course requirements and placement in the Top 15 percent of the graduating class, mean that inductees are among the highest-achieving students at Muhlenberg.
Muhlenberg College has been a member institution of PBK since 1967. The national honor society, a distinguished fellowship of scholars devoted to liberal education and intellectual pursuits, was established at the College of William and Mary in 1776.
