Emmaus soccer teams fall in EPC semifinals

The Emmaus soccer teams both dropped their East Penn Conference semifinal match ups last Thursday to rival Parkland.

The Hornet boys team fell 1-0 to the Trojans to fall to 11-4-5 this season. Parkland went on to lose to Freedom, 5-0, in the league title game.

Emmaus earned the No. 4 seed for the upcoming District 11 Class 4A playoffs and will host No. 5 Easton on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in the quarterfinal round. The winner will advance to take on either top-seeded Freedom or No. 8 Stroudsburg in the semifinals on Nov. 2.

The Emmaus girls team suffered a 3-1 setback to Parkland in the league semifinals. The Trojans went on to beat Easton, 3-1 in the league championship match.

The Lady Hornets head into the district tournament with a 11-7 overall record. They are also the No. 5 seed in districts and will host No. 5 Freedom in the quarterfinal round Thursday at 5:15 p.m. on Memorial Field.

The soccer games are part of a triple header at EHS Thursday as the league champion Hornet field hockey team gets things started with a 3:30 matchup against No. 8 Whitehall.

Soccer semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2 and will be played at neutral sites.
