PHOTOS COURTESY OF JOE HOLLER Trinity Memorial Church, 535 W. Emaus Ave., Allentown, celebrates its centennial anniversary Oct. 10 at a luncheon following the 11 a.m. church service. Attendees enjoyed a trip down memory lane in the form of a slideshow chronicling church events from the past 100 years.
On Dec. 5, 1921, a charter is granted by the Lehigh County Court for the organization of a church in Mountainville. The Rev. John W. Koch was called to serve as pastor. The building site was purchased Dec. 31, 1921. This is an early photo of the church on Emaus Avenue.
This is a photo of the church today on Emmaus Avenue. The church has undergone many renovations with the Christian education building being added in 1960, stained glass windows added in 1980 and the east parking lot added in 1994.
