Barbara A. (Hooftallen) Smith, 75, of Germansville, died Oct. 19, 2021, in her home.
She and her husband, Keith H. Smith, were married 40 years last October.
Born in Coudersport, Potter County, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Marilyn E. (Lamont) Hooftallen.
She was a sewing machine operator at several textile mills before retiring.
After formal retirement, she worked at several local fast food restaurants.
Her favorite “job” was babysitting her grandchildren.
She was a member and former volunteer at Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1, Germansville, and Springside Fire Company, Slatington.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by sons Dale E. Keller (Michael Williamson) of Oakland Park, Fla., James P. Keller of Germansville, and William L. Keller (Tammy) of Kempton; stepdaughter Marcie A. Smith (Tom) of Bethlehem; stepson, Jeremy K. Smith (Leslie) of Arbela, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Maureen R. Padilla of Bixby, Okla., Jacquelyn Walker (Clarence) of Warton, Carla Major (Mike) of Roulette, Penny Bennet, Evaden Valenti (Joseph), all of Austin; and brother James Hooftallen of Emporium.
She was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Judy Hooftallen.
