Harvey A. Hines Jr., 89, of Walnutport, died Oct. 23, 2021, in the Scenic View Personal Care facility, Palmerton. He was the husband of the late Ada E. (Handwerk) Hines.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harvey A. and Alma (Altemos) Hines Sr.

He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. He received two Purple Heart medals.

He was a self-employed antique dealer until his retirement in 2018.

He was a professional fiddle player, guitarist and vocalist with the former Bluegrass Countrymen Band for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Diane and her husband Robert A. Schmidt of Slatington, with whom he last resided; a sister, Sandra Stephens of Bethlehem; a brother, the Rev. William A. with Susan Hines of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Eric Deibert with Jennifer and Vicki Ayers with companion Alan Leone; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are private.
