Diane “Chicky” A. Breidenbach Garland, 72, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 15, 2021 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. She was a recipient of a “Gift of Life” lung transplant. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Naomi (Weil) Breidenbach. She was the wife of Joseph S. Garland for 45 years.
She was a 1967 graduate of Liberty HS.
She was the previous owner of Shively’s Moving and Storage for over 40 years until her recent retirement.
She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Bethlehem.
She was a member of the North End Wanderers Athletic Association and the 540 Democratic Club of Bethlehem.
She is survived by a son, Joseph G. Garland (Dawn); two grandsons, Joseph Jr. and Mason; two brothers, Donald (Carol) and Thomas (Jan) Breidenbach; six sisters, Jane Fisher (Lin), Lucille Ratarsky (Jack), Jean Radford (William), Mary Ann Stahler (Gary) and Linda Budzyn (Joseph), and Ann Anthony (Richard); nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Paul, Richard and Robert; and two sisters, June Cope and Shirley Strokelitus.
