Rodgers earns dean’s list

Cameron Rodgers, of Northampton, has been named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Albright College. A graduate of Northampton Area High School, Rodgers studied business administration: economics and finance during the spring semester.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, Albright students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or better while taking a minimum of three letter-graded courses during a semester.

Kleintop named to president’s honors, dean’s lists

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Leah Kleintop, of Coplay, has been named to its president’s honors list and the dean’s list for spring 2021.

Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

Koch receives white coat

Theresa Anne Koch, of Whitehall, was among the 115 new medical students who received their white coat and took an oath during ceremonies held by Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine Aug. 7.

The Class of 2025 future doctors participated in a ceremony, held in virtually every other medical school in the nation, designed to welcome new medical students into the profession. Students recited an oath acknowledging their responsibilities as future physicians and their obligations to future patients. Then they were cloaked with the white coat - the mantle of the medical profession.

White coats were provided by The Stanley J. Dudrick, M.D., and Alan G. Goldstein Endowed Fund.

University of Rhode Island

Wagner graduates

Paighton Wagner, of Bath, received a Bachelor of Science in animal science and technology, cum laude, from the University of Rhode Island. The school celebrated more than 4,000 of its newest alumni during the university’s 135th commencement. More than 3,700 undergraduate degrees and 680 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during nine individual ceremonies held May 21-23.

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.5; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.

Sonography Class of 2021 holds pinning ceremony

The Northampton Community College Diagnostic Medical Sonography Class of 2021 held its pinning ceremony Aug. 14 to mark the completion of the two-year program. This ceremony officially registered these students as diagnostic sonographers.

Local students include Stephanie Johnson, of Northampton, and Vanessa Gavigan, of Walnutport.

President’s list announced

Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the students named to the summer 2021 president’s list.

Full-time students who earned a minimum GPA of 3.7 and above are named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester; and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 and EW2, EW3 and EW4 or EW5 and EW6.

Knight, Zechman earn dean’s list

Gusick, Solomon graduate

Taryn Gusick, of Northampton, and Samantha Solomon, of Catasauqua, received Master of Science degrees in education at Wilkes University’s summer commencement ceremony Sept. 12. The University awarded nearly 300 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at the event held in the Arnaud C. Marts Center, 274 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre.

Nemes earns degree

Kaitlyn Nemes, of Northampton, was among the 67 graduates to receive a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine during ceremonies held July 31.

The MBS Class of 2021 attended classes entirely online, a format that attracted students from distant states like California, Texas and Arizona, as well as Canada. The ceremony was held virtually to accommodate all graduates.
