Letter to Editor:
Have you prepared for Election Day?
On Nov. 2, South Whitehall residents will choose two 4-year and one 2-year commissioners.
Why is it important to elect someone who aligns with your values and shares your hopes for the future of the township?
Your commissioners provide direction and vote on matters that affect your daily life.
Trash, snow and leaf pick up, roads, audits, land use and zoning, taxes, parks and playgrounds, water and sewer rates, police, fire and public works.
Important matters, would you agree?
Your local election is not about party or politics. It is about selecting people who will provide leadership.
I encourage you to research the website and social media of all candidates on the ballot and find out what they hope to accomplish if elected.
What is their vision for the future? What motivated them to run for office? Do they have a true passion for serving our community?
Will they put the needs of our community first, when elected?
Three candidates stand out and have demonstrated a commitment to work for the good of the township - not themselves, or to a developer or other outside interest.
They are community minded individuals who genuinely desire to serve our wonderful township.
I hope you will join me in voting for Monica Hodges, David Kennedy and Brad Osborne.
It’s time for change in South Whitehall and I firmly believe they will provide the leadership we need.
Diane Kelly
South Whitehall commissioner
