To the Editor:

For the past few years now I have been able to watch Monica Hodges in action.

I first saw her when we both attended the South Whitehall Township board of commissioners’ meetings about the proposal at the Parkview Motel complex.

I was immediately impressed with her willingness to speak out for the people of South Whitehall Township with passion, intelligence, poise and knowledge of the issues.

She is not afraid to speak up for the good of the citizens, and for what she believes in.

I have seen her efforts as co-founder of South Whitehall Concerned Citizens, and how she reaches out to people to inspire, motivate and coordinate effective responses against the huge developments being proposed for our area.

It is obvious from listening to her that she cares about people, the township, our safety, and the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

And she has refused to be silenced, even when criticized and demeaned by some politicians.

Monica’s platform of safety, transparency, accountability and respect should be a blueprint for all of our commissioners to follow.

Her leadership as a citizen advocate has already made a difference, and as a commissioner her vote would be instrumental in getting the township heading in the right direction.

I urge you to vote for her in the upcoming election.
