The Northampton cross country teams wrapped up their regular seasons at home this past week.

It was Senior Day, so the team honored their 12 seniors. That list included: Zeke Colyer, Evan Dempsey, Johnny Breslin, Mitchell Mondschein, Greg Reese, Ben Vegliante, Keith DeMieri, Wesley Burkit, Brianna Tyler, Ellie Spencer, Madison Berger, and Lauren Schuch.

“As for the meet itself, both the boys and girls wrapped up 12-5 seasons going 3-2 on the day,” said head coach Dan Benner. “The boys defeated Becahi, Easton, and Freedom. The girls defeated Becahi, Freedom, and Nazareth.

“The next two weeks things really pick up as we head to the postseason with the EPC and District XI Championships, both hosted at Desales University.”

Freedom’s Alex Heidemann won the boys race with a time of 16:17. The Kids Colyer was right behind him at 16:22 and took second place.

The girls race was won by C. Voidshen of Nazareth with a time of 19:19.

The NHS girls were led by Olivia Horn who finished 10th with a time of 21:14.

Wes Burkit was 11th in 21:15, Briana Tyler took 16th with a time of 21:32 and Abby Enstrom was 24th in 22:16.
