If Route 100 North looks cleaner these days, it’s because of Ann Wertman, of Lowhill Township.
According to Shannon Smedstad, for more than 30 years, Wertman has dedicated weekends each spring and fall to making the roadside more beautiful. Over the years, she has removed thousands of pounds of trash, keeping tires, bottles, metal, and debris out of fields, streams and the way of animals.
But Wertman can’t keep doing this alone.
Anyone interested in joining the cleanup crusade, is asked to reach out to the Seipstown Grange, of which Wertman is a longtime member, by calling 610-298-3254 or emailing annawertman@verizon.net.
And, if you see her, be sure to say “thanks” and remember, please don’t litter.
