Larry Roy Shafer, 67, of Trexlertown, died Oct. 5, 2021, in his home.

He was the husband of Nehelda (David) Shafer.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of Dorothy (Hersh) Huyett and the late Calvin Shafer.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge 283 F&AM.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by children Solomon and Samuel Shafer, Verde Maree and Amanda Shafer; grandchildren Samone, Tyler, Taiyana, Caleb, Remi, Mila, Raine and Levi; and great-grandchildren Ava and Violet.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Oct. 16 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown.

Calling hour is from 2-3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
