Hokendauqua: Trunk or treat is set

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, is hosting a trunk-or-treat event 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 30.

Decorated vehicles will be on display, and volunteers will be handing out treats. There will also be games, music and refreshments.

Donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted for holiday baskets.

The rain date will be Nov. 6.

Reminder: St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, 2819 MacArthur Road, will be holding a blessing of the animals worship service 2 p.m. Oct. 17 behind the church.

All dogs must be on leashes, and cats should be in crates until the time of the blessing. All creatures great and small are welcome.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church’s holiday craft and quilt fair, with tables inside and outside, is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 13.

This is a big fundraiser for the church and is always a popular event for the community.

It is not too early to start thinking about the holiday season! Get into the spirit by taking a trip to Longwood Gardens, sponsored by Whitehall Township, Dec. 11. The bus will leave Whitehall 2 p.m. and will depart the gardens 10 p.m.

The cost is $65 per person, which includes transportation and admission. Purchasing food is on your own. There are many venues to choose.

Send a check payable to Whitehall Township. Only 45 tickets are available.
