Darlene J. Schmeltzle, 81, of Zionsville, died Sept. 27, 2021, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Robert C. Schmeltzle Sr. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in May. Born in Zionsville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C. and Marguerite T. (Schafer) Heil.

She was the head cook for the East Penn School District for many years before retiring.

She was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. and sang with the choir.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Old Zionsville Western District Fire Company.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Robert Jr. and his companion, Carolyn Rhoades; Randy and his wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Henry and his wife, Mary Ann, Larry; grandchildren, Audrey Parenti, Cody and his wife, Paige, Austin, Gabriel, Erica, Caleb, Ethan and Anneliese; great-granddaughter, Aspen. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Keith Allen in 1955.
