To the Editor:
As a longtime resident of South Whitehall Township, I have been paying more attention to local politics in the past few years as massive developments such as Ridge Farms, the Warehouse Complex on Crackersport Road, and most recently a proposal to replace the Parkview Motel site with the massive Premier Luxury Apartment Complex threaten to change the very fabric of our community.
The resultant traffic will overwhelm our roads, create further gridlock and pose a significant threat to the safety and well-being of our citizens.
Monica Hodges, David Kennedy and Brad Osborne share my concerns and have promised to support the moderate growth, farmland preservation agenda of Commissioners Wolk and Kelly.
They will carefully examine every waiver presented to them and not vote for those that have a potential negative impact on safety.
In short, these candidates believe that the needs of citizens hold the highest priority over the wants of the developer to maximize profits through massive development and waiver requests which are a blank check for additional profit.
