Lawrence W. “Larry” Pruneski, 68, of Schnecksville, died Oct. 2, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after suddenly being stricken at home.
He and his wife, Lynne K. (Praetorius) Pruneski, were married 44 years.
Born in Wheeling, Ohio County, W.Va., he was the son of Mary Louise (Chuckery) Pruneski of Dublin, Ohio, and the late Joseph P. Pruneski.
He was a proud member of the St. Clairsville High School football team, which went undefeated in 1969.
A 1974 graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, he worked for Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., Trexlertown, for 38 years before retiring in 2013.
He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where he formerly served on the consistory.
An avid golfer throughout life, in retirement he also enjoyed camping, traveling and being a grandfather.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters Lauren E. Pruneski and her husband, Adam S. Barton, of Montclair, N.J., and Sara K. Pruneski and her husband, Ross M. Johnson, of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter Lucille M. Barton; siblings Joseph R. Pruneski and his wife, Bernadette, of Cambridge, Ohio, Annette E. Richardson of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Michelle Hawkins and her husband, David of Dublin, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at Union UCC, 5550 Route 873, Neffs. The Rev. Kris P. Snyder-Samuelson will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Inurnment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
