Our son Ben broke his collarbone about two weeks ago. According to his doctor, this is a very painful break so he’s had a rough couple of weeks. One afternoon, I was in the family room when I got a call on my cellphone from Ben. I answered and he said, “Can you pick me up?” Knowing he was two rooms away in the dining room, I was confused. He repeated, “Can you come pick me up? I knelt down to pick something up and I can’t get back up.” Sure enough, I went to the dining room and found Ben sitting on the floor. Our running joke now is “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!”
