St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will host a craft fair and quilt sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 9.

Woodwork, hand sewn items and other crafted specialties will be available for purchase.

Quilts, available to purchase, will be displayed over the pews to view and enjoy.

St. John’s cooks will be serving an assortment of lunch choices, and there will be a bake sale.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, is taking orders for apple dumplings.

Call Julie at 610-262-7749 to order by Oct. 13. Pickup is Oct. 17 or 18.

The Friends of Parkland Community Library are offering a fall fundraiser for those who enjoy flowers, plants and seasonal items.

“Monthly Madness” cards from Dan Schantz will provide a special gardening treat each month for an entire year.

These include: January, primrose; February, tulip or hyacinth; March, shamrock or daffodil; April, annual; May, geranium; June, annual; July, hanging basket; August, discount in store; September, pumpkin or gourds; October, face pumpkin; November, mum; December, poinsettia.

Each monthly special will be displayed on clearly marked tables at Dan Schantz’s Greenhouse, 2031 29th St., S.W.; just off Lehigh St., in Allentown.

If you don’t redeem a monthly item, save the card and take it in the same month the following year. The cards do not expire.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, begins another season of Children’s Church Oct. 3 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Children gather for a special message at the chancel, then meet their teachers and travel to classrooms for their own worship time, activities and songs.

Young people, preschool through sixth grade are invited to join the Children’s Church program.
