Joan McDonald Bauer, 93, formerly of Allentown, died on Sept. 25, 2021, in Fellowship Villa, Whitehall.
She was the wife of the late Rev. L. Paul Bauer and Charles R. McDonald.
Born June 13, 1928, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas T. and Beatrice K. (Kennedy) Newman.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a technician at the former Western Electric, Allentown, for 40 years before retiring. She attended Faith Church and Fellowship Community Church and was a member of Stephen’s Ministry and Gideon’s Auxiliary.
She was known for her deep faith, encouraging spirit and love for people.
Her survivors include daughters Audrey J. Long and her husband, Barry, of Allentown, and Eileen A. Lennox and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Stephen J. Lennox of New Brunswick, Canada; sister Catherine A. Rauth of New Cumberland; brother Harold V. Newman and his wife, Dorothy, of Allentown; sister-in-law Susan, wife of her late brother Patrick; grandchildren Christin, Abigail, Andrea, Ethan and Benjamin; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers Thomas and Patrick.
