WCSB approves job descriptions for administrative personnel

During the Whitehall-Coplay School Board meeting held Sept. 13, the board approved job descriptions including superintendent of schools, assistant to the superintendent, business manager, human resources manager, director of curriculum and instruction, director of special education and director of educational operations.
The board also approved the retirement of Queen Ann Sodl, cafeteria worker at Whitehall High School.
Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS President Toni Fillman informed the board the book fairs are underway, and Zephyr Elementary School had the highest amount of book sales since the PTO began holding book fairs. Fillman thanked Student Council for helping at meet the teacher night and with the spirit wear sale.
In other news, marching band volunteers include Elizabeth Burnett, color guard tech; Justin Tanzos, Holly Crosslin, Grace Kemmerer and Nicholas Bonilla, percussion techs; Elaine Ramirez-Jimenez, Anthony Delp, Matthew Cascioli and Kimberly Tanzos, marching techs; Michael Tanzos, music tech; and Stephen Brown, visual coordinator.
Whitehall-Coplay Middle School advisers include Katherine DeSalva and Julie Pittas, Aevidum Club, at $350 each; Daniel Danneker, Art Club and yearbook, at $700 each; Corey Frantz and Jamie Brobst, Leo Club, at $350 each; Samantha Neas, Science Olympiad, at $1,250; Rhiannon Sorrentino, Science Olympiad, at $600; Miranda Dangler, Michelle Brownback and Lisa Barr, Student Council, at $700 each; Donald Ryan, chorale, at $550; Matthew Tanzos, instrumental, at $550; and Miranda Dangler and Natasha Lewis, Reading Olympics, at $350 each.
