Oct. 2
State Rep. Milou Mackenzie, R-131st, will host a shredding event 10 a.m. to noon at Hopewell Park, 4695 W. Hopewell Road, Center Valley. District residents may bring up to four boxes, approximately the size of a standard carry-on suitcase, of sensitive documents per vehicle to be shredded. Eligible documents include items such as bank account information and personal documents. Items such as phone books, magazines, books and junk mail will not be accepted. This event is restricted to homeowners; businesses cannot be accommodated.
Stahl’s Pottery Festival, 6826 Corning Road, Zionsville, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features tours of the site, contemporary pottery and food. There is a charge for admission. Call 484-764-8842 for more information.
Oct. 5
The Emmaus Garden Club will meet noon, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. The program will be “Succulents.” Susan Wilson, a teacher and PSU Master Gardener and daughter-in-law of member Ellen Wilson, will discuss succulent characteristics, varieties, light, water and humidity needs, basic growing tips, pots and soil. She will talk about common problems, propagation and arrangement of containers displays and she will bring examples of succulents – for some lucky winners. Guests are always welcome. Topton will hold its Halloween parade 7 p.m.

The Vera Cruz Halloween parade will be held beginning 7 p.m. Participants will gather 6 to 6:30 p.m. in Mystic Chain Park, Main Road East. The rain date is 7 p.m. Oct. 14.

Fall bazaar at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Event includes crafters, attic treasures, a gift basket auction, bake sale and food.

Emmaus will hold its Halloween parade 7:30 p.m. with a rain date of 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17.
Oct. 17
The Upper Milford Township fire companies will host their annual community day open house noon to 3 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St. (Route 100/29). Emergency equipment will be displayed and first responders, including firefighters, paramedics and EMTs, will be available to answer questions. Smokey Bear will visit noon. Learn about what it takes to respond to fires, accidents and medical emergencies.
Coopersburg will hold its Halloween parade 3 p.m. with a rain date of 3 p.m. Oct. 24.
Oct. 20
Alburtis Area 55+ Seniors will hold their monthly meeting noon at the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club Pavilion, 3818 Gun Club Road, Alburtis. Come join the fun social gathering. Scouting for Food drive 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St.
