VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
·Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley’s Youth Volunteer Council is calling all high school students in the Greater Lehigh Valley in grades nine through 12 to join the council for the 2021-22 school year. Join a group of like-minded peers, volunteer your time for our community around your schedule, join in group volunteer opportunities after school and on the weekends, make new friends, learn about nonprofits in the Lehigh Valley and how you can help, discuss important topics with community leaders and industry professionals, develop leadership skills, build your resume for your future, fulfill volunteer requirements for graduation, make your voice heard and so much more.
Meetings are 4 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at a selected nonprofit. During the winter, the council will meet via Zoom on the third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m.

·Feed The Children, Bethlehem, needs volunteers to pack boxes of food and personal care items 9 a.m. to noon every Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to noon and 5-8 p.m. every Thursday. Minimum age 16 or with parent supervision is 11.

·Holiday Hope Chests, Lehigh Valley is looking for volunteers to wrangle empty shoe boxes from local shoe stores for the Volunteer Center’s Holiday Hope Chests Program. Visit a shoe store close to you, join our Shoebox Squad and visit a specific store weekly, or be on-call for an emergency run when boxes are ready for pick up. Stores located throughout the Lehigh Valley.

·United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley invites you to join the Lehigh Valley’s Talk, Read, Sing campaign and help us spread the message that talking, reading and singing with children ages 0-5 builds language skills and gets them ready for school. Join us as we create connections with the places in our community our families trust most - child care centers, grocery stores, salons, libraries, laundromats and more. Time commitment is 2-4 hours a month.

·Center for Animal Health and Welfare, Easton, is seeking volunteers to walk dogs, assist with morning cleanings, attend off-site events to promote the shelter, cat and dog enrichment and general shelter help.
