After hosting the Northampton Invite back on Saturday Sept. 4, the cross country teams opened their EPC competition on Tuesday Sept. 14. The meet was at the Allentown Parkway against Allentown Central Catholic, Emmaus, and Whitehall. Both the boys and girls beat Whitehall on the day.
The scoring five on the boys side were: Zeke Colyer (1st), Abel Veltry (5th), Evan Dempsey (13th), Johnny Breslin (31st), and Ryder Ault (34th).
The scoring five on the girls side were: Wes Burkit (5th), Abby Enstrom (22nd), Olivia Horn (26th), Brianna Tyler (36th), and Ellie Spencer (40th).
“Emmaus and Central are always tough teams, so it was good to see some of the best teams in the area right away to get an idea of how hard we need to work to try and reach that level,” said head coach Dan Benner. “We are not quite there yet, but we will keep working hard over the next month and a half until districts to try and get there.
“Individually, it was a good day for Zeke Colyer to get the overall win. It was a successful day for Abel Veltri and Wes Burkit to be in the top-five of each of their races.”
The Kids are back at the Allentown Parkway again next week as they face Allen, Dieruff, and Parkland.
