Northampton’s girls tennis team put up the ultimate fight against Nazareth, but walked away with a 1-6 loss to the Blue Eagles last Thursday at Nazareth.
“We lost a close 6-1 with four matches going three sets,” said Northampton coach Kim Davis, “and two matches going to tiebreakers.”
Winning for the Konkrete Kids were the number one doubles pair of Chrissa Andrew and Isabela Pina who defeated Noel Olsen and Nistha Prajapati, 8-3.
In singles play, Northampton’s Caitlin Stout lost to Angie Moncavage at number one, 7-5, 2-6, 0-6.
At number two singles, Northampton’s Abby Beil fell to Jess Rodriguez, 4-6, 3-6, and at three singles, Northampton’s Emma Whitman lost to Emma Ricci, 6-4, 2-6, 1-6.
Northampton’s Olivia Tepes and Isabella Sawartinski lost at two doubles to Mackenzie Shoup and Eesha Patel, 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, Northampton’s Caroline Gray and Rachael Zeiten lost at three doubles to Kaelin Ellis and Kelly Creighton, 6-7, TB 3-6, and at four doubles, Northampton’s Devin Rogozinski and Giulia LaForgia fell to Kiera Smith and Chloe Barzin, 2-6, 7-5, 4-10.
Earlier last week, the K-Kids visited Liberty where Stout and Biel were leading in their respective second sets when a brief but substantial rain shower postponed the rest of the match until Sept. 14.
