Roughie Roundup Catty girls fall to Whitehall
The Whitehall girls soccer team welcomed back former Zeph and star player Kayla Cunningham to open the season, and won 8-2.
Cunningham was named the Catasauqua girls soccer coach and brought her team to Whitehall for game one.
Alyssa Marsteller and Sarah Wakim scored for the Zephs for a 2-0 lead. Catty would answer with a goal from Faith Daku to make it 2-1.
But from there it was all Whitehall - Ava Wells on an assist from Marsteller made it 3-1 before the half.
In the second half, Aubrey Vivian, Wells two more times, Kate Yadush and Sage Snyder increased the lead to 8-1 before Madison Harth scored Catty’s second goal.
One Tuesday, Catty got past Salisbury 2-1.
All the scoring action took place in the second half.
Salisbury’s goal came from Mona Shields and was assisted by Quinn Wittman.
Hannah Kamp had 13 saves but took the loss.
Catty goals were both scored by Sydney Gebhardt.
Isabella Atiyeh had 7 saves in the win for CHS.

The Catty boys soccer team fell to Salisbury 6-2 on Tuesday.
The Falcons scored in the first half for the game’s lone goal, but Salisbury exploded for five in the second half.
Salisbury’s Nick Amado had three goals and Alejandro Zuniga Garcia scored two while Cam’Ren Smith had one.
Amado added three assists with one each from Jack Monahan and Will Raymond.
Tyson Utesch and Kyle Artis combined for eight saves and the team fired off 24 shots.
Catasauqua goals came in the second half from Luis Del Rosario and Brendan Nye.
Vinicius Takahashi had an assist.
Wesley Fotta was busy in goal with 18 saves while Catty had 10 shots.

Catty volleyball fell 3-0 to Southern Lehigh, 25-13, 25-12, 25-6.
Kendall Cioffi led the way with 7 aces, 15 assists and a dig.
