Coplay Borough Council, at its Sept. 7 meeting, discussed a $10,411 bid to install a multi-zone ductless heat pump for council chambers and the borough administration office.
This particular piece of equipment would not only provide air conditioning but is also capable of emitting heat as needed. Council will vote on this proposal at its Sept. 14 regular meeting.
Council will also be voting on the motion to sell the 2000 GMC T8500 garbage truck on Municibid, beginning with the amount of $5,000, since the borough’s new sanitation truck has arrived.
In committee reports, Councilman Steve Burker, from the recreation committee, noted the Coplay summer concert series at the gazebo is now done for the season. This year’s series reportedly drew the biggest crowds yet. Burker thanked Paul Boyle and his public works crew for maintaining the area around the gazebo.
He also thanked the public works crew and police department for assisting with the successful Coplay Community Days.
