The American Club of Coplay is holding its 2021 picnic Sept. 11. This year’s picnic is for adults only.

Reminder: Upcoming entertainment at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will include Common Bond Sept. 10 and Joe Kroboth Sept. 12.

For the Friday show, the gates and bar open 5 p.m., with the kitchen opening 5:30 p.m. The gates and bar will open 2 p.m., with the kitchen opening 3 p.m., for the Sunday polka.

Redeemed Christian Church of God, 5 N. Third St., will be hosting PraiseFest 2021. The event is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 11 a.m. Sept. 12.

Billed as the biggest African Christian celebration in the Lehigh Valley, the event will feature music and entertainment, an ice cream truck and food. The theme is “Praising God the African way.”

The gathering is ecumenical, and all are invited.

Admission, food and entertainment are offered to the community free of charge.

Coplay Saengerbund is planning an Oktoberfest 2:30-7 p.m. Sept. 12. A parade kicks off the event 2:30 p.m. There will be music by Joe Kroboth 3-7 p.m.

Other features include the Auerhahn Schuhplattler dancers, an Oktoberfest singalong and Masskrugstemmen. There will be imported German beers and authentic German food.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., celebrates the return of Sunday school with a rally day event Sept. 12. Sunday school begins 9 a.m., worship will be 10:30 a.m., and the hot dog social is 11:30 a.m.
