A 49-year-old Trexlertown woman was killed when the motorcycle she was a passenger on struck a tractor-trailer combo 11:10 p.m. Aug. 24 in the 800 block of Trexlertown Road, Breinigsville.

Lehigh County Coroner Eric Minnich said Kerri Sodl was pronounced dead by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Cassandra Schiffner 1:22 a.m. on Aug. 25 at the scene.

An autopsy was performed Aug. 25, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Kelly Mouer, who said the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma due to the motorcycle crash.

Minnich said the manner of Sodl’s death was ruled an accident.

Upper Macungie Township police say the driver of an International Harvester tractor trailer, a 39-year-old man from Andreas, was attempting to make a right turn into a private driveway when the trailer was struck from behind by a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 54-year-old Catasauqua man.

Police say the tractor-trailer driver was uninjured. The operator of the motorcycle sustained moderate injuries.

Trexlertown and Fogelsville firefighters, along with Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel responded to the scene.
