Lillian I. Ernst, 96, of South Whitehall, died Aug. 25, 2021, in her daughter’s home.

She was the wife of the late Edwin G. Ernst.

Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Weber) Krautsack.

She was a member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville.

Before retiring in 1981, she worked on the first transistor at Western Electric for 30 years.

She will be remembered for her love of cooking, especially old German recipes.

Her survivors include a son David E. and his wife, Tracey, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; daughter Linda J., wife of the late George Beers, of Allentown; granddaughters Dr. Jennifer Beers, Amy, wife of Jonathan Asbath, and Haley Ernst; great-granddaughter Lily Asbath; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 3 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
