Joyce E. Shankweiler, 89, of Schnecksville, died Aug. 27, 2021, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Henry C. Shankweiler.

Born Sept. 22, 1931, in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Ivan P. and Arlene P. (Lauchnor) Schneck.

Having a life-long love of music, she taught piano and voice in her home for more than 50 years.

The director of the Schnecksville Choraliers, she was also a member of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and The Lehigh University Choral Union.

She was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, and Schnecksville Grange No. 1684.

Her survivors include children David W. Shankweiler (Sally) of Schnecksville, Mark S. Shankweiler (Tara) of New York City, N.Y., John H. Shankweiler (Morgan) of Swarthmore, and Ann M. Marko (John) of Schnecksville; sister Shirley A. Schneck of Schnecksville; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three nieces.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Gordon A. Camp officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Jordan UCC Cemetery, South Whitehall.
