John W. Krisko
John W. “Jack” Krisko, 84, died Aug. 19, 2021.
Born June 2, 1937, in Allentown, he was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Ward) Krisko.
Shortly after he graduated from Allen High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served four and a half years as air police and was stationed in Germany.
He took leave to come home to marry his high school sweetheart, Marion J. Holben, to whom he was married more than 64 years.
They were blessed to have two children.
In 1962, he started the John Krisko Insurance agency representing Nationwide Insurance.
A commercial and group health insurance specialist he had prestigious accounts such as ALPO dog foods.
He was beloved by Nationwide winning awards as top agent on the East Coast.
He and his wife built an agency that has served individuals and families in the community for decades.
He inspired and encouraged his son and daughter, Lee and Linda to join him in business and then to have their own heritage agencies with a span of 59 years that is still going.
He was the quintessential conversationalist being well rounded with knowledge on many subjects.
He was a conservative and a Christian and loved to engage people of all ages - not only his clients but his friends, family and neighbors - everyone enjoyed talking with him.
A sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, golf, collecting firearms, shooting, had many rose gardens, a koi pond for more than 30 years and owned the Enchanted Forest Christmas Tree Farm, New Ringgold, for more than 20 years growing prize winning Fraser Fir Christmas trees.
He had beagles and a beloved cocker spaniel named Omi.
He was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
He was very proud of his two grandsons Capt. Jonathon L. Krisko, Army JAG (Judge Advocate General), and Dr. Alexander J. Krisko.
He was predeceased by his sisters Dolores Trapp and Susan Frederick.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Lee J. Krisko and his wife, Dana L. Krisko, of Schnecksville; daughter Linda K. Krisko and her husband, Brian D. Ziegler, of Bethlehem; sister Lei Lani Fegley of Macungie; grandsons Jonathon L. Krisko and his wife, Alexandria, of Spanaway, Wash., and Dr. Alexander J. Krisko and his wife, Dr. Phoebe Sun, of Lexington, Ky.
He will truly be missed by all until we meet again.
