While Bethlehem Catholic’s boys soccer team is a senior-laden one, experience under second-year head coach John Hohn should propel the Golden Hawks to good things in 2021.

At the top of the class are returning seniors Peter Martinez and Matt Yusella, both solid defenders.

“We have two new freshmen I believe will be really solid players,” said Coach Hohn. “These two are boys you can build a team around.”

This summer, the Hawks worked with a trainer on strength and conditioning.

“I believe we have a solid midfield this year, and we will be able to control the ball in the center of the pitch,” Hohn said.

Hohn also mentioned the issues the Hawks have had with scoring and low shot counts, so they have been focusing on shooting drills and players getting free in order to take the shot.

“Being a 2A school in a league with mostly 4A schools, having a .500 season and making a run at districts would be a success in my book,” Hohn said.
