Western Lehigh Chamber donates to The Sanctuary at Haafsville

As a follow up from the inaugural Paws at the Park in May at Grange Park in Upper Macungie Township, the Western Lehigh Chamber has donated funds raised for the local beneficiary, The Sanctuary at Haafsville, Breinigsville.

Thanks to the community, the Western Lehigh Chamber was able to donate $1,488 to The Sanctuary, a safe haven for homeless cats and dogs.

In the Sanctuary’s first 11 years, they saved more than 10,000 animals and placed them in loving “furever” homes.

In 2020, they placed almost 1,300 animals.

The shelter adheres to a no-kill animal welfare philosophy which means animals are not euthanized to create space.

The Sanctuary partners with shelters that are overcrowded, and work with 14 Lehigh County municipalities and one Berks County municipality to take in stray dogs and cats, rescue dogs and cats from natural disasters, accept dogs and cats from owners who need to relinquish them, and work to place animals into loving homes.
