Charles T. Adomshick
Charles T. Adomshick, 83, of Orefield, died peacefully Aug. 18, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He and his wife, Marie (Gregor) Adomshick, were married 59 years.
Born Feb. 15, 1938 in Freeland, Luzerne County, he was the son of the late George and Victoria (Nowak) Adomshick.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University.
He was a senior engineer at the former Western Electric and Bell Labs, Allentown, for 27 years before retiring in 1999.
He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Since his formal retirement, he served as an adjunct professor at Lehigh and Lafayette universities.
He was a member of the Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Association and never missed an opportunity to say he was “Penn State Proud.”
A member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, he was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 10921.
He loved nature, in particular, all varieties of birds. He also enjoyed golfing, watching college sports (especially Penn State football), traveling, solving Sudoku puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters Debra J. Leaswitch (Ray) of Orefield, Denise A. Target (Steve) of North Wales; siblings Jerry Adomshick (Barbara) of Arizona, Larry Adomshick (Kathy), and Kathy Miller (Charles), all of Reading; grandchildren Colin (Makenzie), Kevin, Nathan, Courtney, Blake; and a great-grandson soon to be born.
He was predeceased by a brother George Adomshick.
