Schools in the Catasauqua Area School District will be closed Sept. 3 and 6 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

School buses will soon be out on the roads again as we embark on the 2021-22 academic year. I hope you and your family have enjoyed the summer and found time to enjoy some special activities.

The first day of school for students in the CASD is Aug. 30.

Classes for Lehigh Carbon Technical Institute students will begin Aug. 31. Students attending LCTI should follow CASD’s schedule for the first day of school.

On Aug. 10, CASD Board of Education approved the health and safety plan for the 2021-22 school year.

The adopted plan, developed in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Department of Education, is a fluid document that will take into consideration emerging guidance and recommendations from state and local officials. To ensure the effectiveness of the plan, it will continue to be reviewed and revised based upon the guidance of local and state health officials.

CASD will again offer three learning options - traditional K-12 in person, CASD online program and home education - when students return to school Aug. 30.
