Allen/East Allen townships: Bicentennial Bash is Aug. 28

Bicentennial Bash will be 3-8 p.m. Aug. 28 at Bicentennial Park West, 5351 Park West Lane, East Allen Township. Highlights of the day include crafts, food, vendor displays, live entertainment and ax throwing.

Allen Township residents can drop off any yard waste 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays at the township building, 4714 Indian Trail Road.

This is for township residents only. ID is required.

East Allen Township Farmers Market is open 3-7 p.m. Wednesdays at Bicentennial Park West.

Unangst Tree Farms, 1300 Beth-Bath Pike, East Allen Township, hosts a food truck festival 4-8 p.m. each Wednesday until September. Each week features nearly a dozen food trucks, musicians and hayrides.

There are several picnic tables, but it is recommended you bring your own picnic blankets or lawn chairs.

Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program of Lehigh and Northampton counties is accepting orders for native trees and shrubs through Aug. 31.

The sale, which serves as a fundraiser for the program, offers 27 varieties of trees and shrubs that can be picked up Oct. 23 at Wayne Grube Park, 1200 Willowbrook Road.
