South Whitehall police organized a fun-for-all National Night Out on Aug. 3 at Covered Bridge Park,

As in previous years, there were activities for children, police riding bicycles through an obstacle course, a K-9 demonstration, hay rides a band concert presented by the group, “We May Be Right,” a Billy Joel Tribute band.

Attendees could bring their own chairs and sit and enjoy the music.

Three food trucks were available from which to purchase food and beverages.

There was a corn hole tournament for which participants formed two-person teams to compete.

Thirty-two teams signed up.

Two friends from Catasauqua - Shaun Fenon and Joe Kovacs - formed a team called the “Catty Boys.”

They lost to the “Mother Shuckers” from Allentown, a father and son team of Brandon Zimmerman and son Riley.

The Zimmermans then played against “The Nutz.”

This team, Brian Stine from North Whitehall and Mark Brosky from Allentown wore T-shirts on which was written “Lugnut” and “Numbnut” on the back.

“The Nutz” team then beat “The Mother Shuckers.”

The audience sitting on the bleachers nearby cheered the players and a good time was had by all.
