Musikfest 2021 was adorned with poppies, which were featured in the Musikfest poster, promotional banners, on T-hirts, and of course, on the iconic Musikfest beer mugs. Several businesses on Main Street displayed poppies in their windows. Artist Mandy Martin designed the official poster.
Martin, from Sellersville, came to the Crayola tent at the Familienplatz Aug. 7 to do a painting demonstration. While children made fun creations inside the tent, Mandy was stationed just outside the tent for visibility to the passersby. ArtsQuest Director of Education and Outreach Lisa Harms said, “It was so nice of Mandy to come out to do a demo. She said the tent was busy the night before, all the way until closing time. “I think people are excited to be out, seeing family and friends (at Musikfest),” added Harms.
Mandy’s original painting for Musikfest was on display at the Artsquest Center. A silent auction was held during the Fest to offer the painting to the highest bidder. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Fund for Racial Justice and Equality, powered by the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
