New reptile shop opens in Whitehall

Pat Kline, of Coplay, opened a unique store called The Reptile Depot at 3001 S. Second St., Whitehall, in June.

Kline specializes in frogs but also sells snakes, geckos, chameleons, turtles, tortoises, tarantulas and scorpions, in addition to feed and accessories for the reptiles and amphibians.

He emphasizes proper care of all animals he sells. All the reptiles he sells are nonvenomous.

“I sell a lot locally, and the shop is doing really well,” Kline said. “There are more exotic people around than you think.”

In addition to his store, he ships live reptiles anywhere in the country.

People familiar with the Hokendauqua area might remember this location as the former Geiger’s store.

Kline has been selling frogs, feed and accessories for several years online before opening the new store. The website is TheFrogDepot.com and is focused exclusively on frogs.
