Karen A. Wilhelm

Karen A. Wilhelm, 75, formerly of Zionsville, died Aug. 12, 2021, in Wesley Village, Pittston. She was the wife of the late Frederick C. Wilhelm, with whom she celebrated 47 years of marriage on Feb. 8, 2016. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles F. and Florence (Bartelt) Burmeister.

She worked at Rodale Press’s corporate library for many years. She was a mother, grandmother, avid gardener, nature lover and excellent Scrabble player. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus.

She is survived by her son, Andrew C. and his wife, Rachel M. Rumann, of Queens, N.Y.; a step-grandson, Jackson Rumann; a daughter, Kiersten A. wife of Shawn Falchetti, of Dallas; a granddaughter, Emma Falchetti; a sister, Julie Burmeister and her husband, Thomas Griffin, of Seattle, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Nancy, wife of the late Jonathan Burmeister, of Chicago; a sister-in-law, Bonnie and her husband, Dale Wegner, of Cedarburg, Wis.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 18 in Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway South, Old Zionsville. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.

Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements. Masks are required for visitation and services in the church.
