Stingrays win Suburban title!

The Bethlehem Stingrays outswam seven summer swim teams to clinch the Suburban League of the Lehigh Valley crown on July 24 at Lower Macungie Pool.

The Stingrays scored 1290.5 points, the Macungie Bears placed second with 1029.5 points, and Quakertown came in third with 1025.5 points.

Bethlehem’s girls team had 12 first-place finishes, and Bethlehem’s boys team had five.

In individual girls events, Natalie Brezinsky won the 13-14 50 breaststroke in 34.08, the 100 IM in 1:06.56, and the 100 freestyle in 58.75.

Leah Onia was the winner of the 11-12 100 IM in 1:15.91, the 50 breast in 38.78, and the 50 backstroke in 35.50.

In the 8&U age group, Aly Yerk took first place in the 25 breast in 21.31 and the 25 back in 19.41.

LeLe Waldman took first place in the 8&U 25 free in 17.00.

Bella Heiserman won the 9-10 25 breast in 21.02.

In girls relays, Waldman, Sophia Heiseman, Evelyn Gould, Aly Yerk, and Aby Yerk won the 8&U 100 free relay with a time of 1:21.13.

The Stingray girls also won the crescendo relay swum by Brezinsky, Talia Lehr, Lindsey Heiserman, Waldman, and Lena Blazure with a time of 1:59.71.

In individual boys events, Andre Negron took first place in the 13-14 50 breast in 30.69.

In the 15&O age group, Patrick Gilhool won the 100 IM in 52.90, the 50 fly in 23.02, and the 50 back in 24.33.

The Stingray boys won the crescendo relay with a combination of David Gabrielle, Addison Collins, Mario Negron, Theo Collins, and Owen Story with a time of 1:50.06.

Other summer swim teams that competed were the Soleco Stingrays with 1009.5 points, the Lower Macungie Lazers with 785.5 points, the Whitehall Waves with 434 points, the Northampton Kids with 287.5 points, and Palmerton with 270 points.
