Shirley V. Lakatosh, 82, of Schnecksville, died on Aug. 4, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She was the wife of the late Denton K. Lakatosh, who died on June 3.
Born Oct. 30, 1938, in Quakertown, Bucks County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Rosella F. (Altieri) Wagner.
She was a police communications operator for the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop M, Bethlehem, for 32 years before retiring.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.
Along with her husband, she was co-founder of the SP Senior Legion Baseball Team.
Additionally, she was a member of the Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania and the Poodle Club of the Lehigh Valley.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she and her husband and their daughter, Jane, spent countless hours enjoying her grandchildren and cheering as they played travel baseball.
Her great-granddaughter was the most recent center of attention and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with any of her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by many. “Her children arise up, and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28.
Her survivors include children Brian D. Lakatosh of Macungie, Jane Ann Lakatosh, at home, Julie A., wife of Dr. Anthony V. Matejicka II, of Lincroft, N.J.; grandchildren Rachel Lakatosh Kunkel, Alyssa Rae Lakatosh, Anthony V. III, Jared T. and Jayden T. Matejicka; and great-granddaughter Arianna Torres Lakatosh.
