Nila E. Grammes, 98, of Allentown, died on Aug. 5, 2021, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Clarence C. Grammes.

Born March 20, 1923 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth A. (Heckma) Bross.

A 1941 graduate of Allentown High School, she was a payroll supervisor at the former Allison Mfg. Co, Allentown, for 32 years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Allentown.

She served as president of T.P.A. Post L Auxiliary for two years.

Her survivors include a nephew Robert L. Shaw (Bonnie) of Lancaster; nieces Beverly A. Altemose of Orefield, Joyce Pape (Horst) of East Greenville; and godchildren Timothy R. Shaw (Julie) of Boyertown, and Melissa M. Dow (Steve) of Downingtown.
