Bethlehem Catholic has been known for producing standout linemen in the past and that trend continues this season as upcoming senior Justin Kanyuk committed to the University of North Carolina recently on Twitter.

The 6-foot-7, 290-pound offensive tackle made the news official with his tweet.

“I would like to thank all the coaches who have recruited me, but after some long thoughts and talks with my parents and after a great official visit I have decided to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of North Carolina,” Kanyuk announced on Twitter.

Kanyuk earned first-team Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Northampton Division honors last season and was a second-team all-state 4A selection.

UNC is led by head coach Mack Brown and finished 8-4 last year in the ACC, losing to Texas A&M 41-27 in the Orange Bowl.
